I clean when I’m stressed.
When there’s something going on out of my control, I take out the scrubbies and cleaning bucket and I attack my little zone, because there’s such immediate gratification from seeing results. I can control my kitchen at least 😉
But when it’s spring, my soul perks up and all I want to do is step outside like it’s the Sound of Music and soak up all the Vitamin D I missed from what feels like 10 months of our Canadian winter.
reality check
Unfortunately, at some point, I still have to go inside and face the chaos that naturally comes from 7 people in hibernation mode for months. So…fine. But I want to do it efficiently so I can get back out there and work on my garden and landscaping our acreage.
You too?
But it’s hard to get to everything when you’re tripping over kids all day, right?
This Spring Checklist involves the whole family – you can teach life skills like home maintenance and get the job done faster because of the teamwork!
what’s in the master checklist?
- every single indoor and outdoor cleaning task imaginable is included so you don’t have to do any extra thinking
- tasks are broken down into bite-size steps
- you control which tasks to squeeze into weekdays or what to save for weekends
- no timeframes or due dates so it’s as flexible as possible
- tasks are grouped to cut down the overwhelm and anxiety. Tackle what you can!
- rewards to help motivation
- Jobs divided into “littles” and “adults” so the whole family is involved
If you want to charge through and get all the big tasks done, go team! If you want to tackle the jobs one-by-one and give yourself breaks in between, yay for coffee breaks!
Final note, to make Spring Cleaning slightly better than dreaded, I’ve added in motivational quotes, cleaning tips, and a reward at the bottom of each section. Rewards are up to you: ice cream outing? Family games night? Glass of wine for the grownups? You deserve it, too 🙂
Thanks for stopping by! Go ahead and buy that Master Checklist!
